How much do I earn?

20% of the referred customer's first payment — a one-time commission, earned when a real inspector you referred subscribes to MoldMind and pays. Because it's a percentage of that first payment, it scales with the plan and term: a Professional annual subscription pays far more than a Starter monthly one. It's a one-time commission, not a recurring cut of their renewals.

What's the free month my referrals get?

Anyone who subscribes through your link or code gets a one-month account credit from MoldMind — a real perk you can point to when you share it ("use my link, get a month free"). It's applied to their account after your conversion clears its 30-day hold, so it lands as a credit on their next invoice rather than discounting their first payment. That means your 20% is still calculated on their full first payment — the free month never comes out of your commission.

When and how do I get paid?

We pay out manually on the 1st of each month for every conversion that has cleared its hold, once your cleared balance is at least $50. A smaller balance simply rolls over to the next month. Put plainly: paid on the 1st, once cleared balance ≥ $50. You choose PayPal or Zelle.

What counts as a conversion?

Someone who signs up through your link or code and pays their first invoice. A free-trial signup on its own doesn't count — the commission is earned when they actually subscribe and pay.

Question 5

What's the 30-day hold?

Accepted Answer

Every new conversion is held for 30 days before it becomes payable, which covers the refund window. If that customer refunds or files a dispute during the hold, the commission for that conversion is voided. Conversions that clear the 30 days are paid on the next 1st.

Question 6

Do I owe taxes?

Accepted Answer

Yes — you're an independent contractor, not an employee. We collect a W-9 from you before your first payout and issue a 1099-NEC if you earn $600 or more in a calendar year. How you report the income is up to you and your accountant.

Do I have to disclose that I earn a commission?

Accepted Answer

Yes — the FTC requires it, and the Affiliate Agreement gives you a ready one-liner to use in videos, posts, and course packets: “I earn a commission if you sign up for MoldMind through my link — at no extra cost to you.”
