About MoldMind

MoldMind is report-writing software for mold inspectors and assessors. It is built by Nicolas Reimer, founder of MoldMind LLC, a Connecticut company.

Why it exists

Inspectors already know the first shift: driving out, capturing findings, reading meters, pulling samples. The second shift is the one nobody talks about: hours at the kitchen table every night, fighting Word templates, cross-checking IICRC S520, and formatting photo grids.

MoldMind exists to end the second shift, so the time goes back to inspecting instead of typing.

How it is built

  • AI-assisted, never AI-generated

MoldMind drafts the report from your field notes, photos, and lab results. It never finalizes one on its own and never sends one to a client.

  • The inspector reviews and signs every report

Nothing goes out until you have read it, edited what needs editing, and approved it. The report is yours and carries your name.

  • Standards are cited by name

Each finding names the standard it relies on, such as IICRC S520 or ASTM D7391, so a reader can see what the conclusion rests on.

  • Claims are checked against primary sources

Standards language and state-law statements are checked against the standard, statute, or regulation itself, not against someone else’s summary.

  • Corrections from experienced assessors are folded back in

When working assessors point out something MoldMind gets wrong, the fix goes into how reports are written. Your own edits shape your future drafts too.

More detail on how AI is used, and where it is not, is in the AI disclosure. To see the output, open a sample report.
