Cookie Policy
Last updated: 7/16/2026
This Cookie Policy explains how MoldMind LLC ("MoldMind," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on the MoldMind Service and our marketing website. It supplements the Privacy Policy and is part of how we communicate our data practices to you.
1. What Are Cookies?
A "cookie" is a small text file that a website places on your device when you visit. Cookies allow the website to remember you across page loads and visits, support security and authentication, and (in some cases) collect analytics or advertising data. We also use closely related technologies — including local storage, session storage, IndexedDB, and pixel tags — to provide similar functionality. In this Policy, "cookies" includes those related technologies.
2. Categories of Cookies We Use
MoldMind uses only the cookies necessary to operate the Service. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies, cross-site behavioral-advertising trackers, or marketing pixel tags on the Service.
| Category | Purpose | Examples (source) | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary — authentication | Maintain your signed-in session, prevent cross-site request forgery, support multi-factor sign-in | Clerk session cookies, CSRF tokens | Session or up to 7 days |
| Strictly necessary — payment | Operate the billing pages, payment-method capture, and Stripe Checkout | Stripe Elements / Checkout cookies | Session |
| Strictly necessary — infrastructure | Load balancing, request routing, edge caching, deployment protection | Vercel infrastructure cookies | Session or short-lived |
| Strictly necessary — preferences | Remember your theme (light/dark), organization context, and similar Service preferences | Local storage on your device | Until you clear browser storage |
| Functional — diagnostics | Maintain offline support, queued uploads, and client-side caching for the Progressive Web App | IndexedDB (Dexie) and service-worker cache on your device | Until you clear browser storage or remove the PWA |
| Functional — attribution | Remember which referral or affiliate link brought you to MoldMind so that sign-up credit is applied to the correct referrer | mm_ref (customer referral) and mm_aff (affiliate) — first-party cookies set from the link you clicked | Up to 30 days |
| Marketing site analytics (if enabled) | Measure aggregate visits to our marketing website (excluding the authenticated Service); we use privacy-respecting analytics that do not set cross-site identifiers | First-party analytics cookie or local-storage entry | Up to 13 months |
The Service requires the strictly necessary categories to function. If you block or delete them, the Service will not work correctly (you will not be able to sign in, complete payment, or use offline features).
We do not currently use the following on the Service or marketing site:
- Third-party advertising or remarketing cookies;
- Cross-site behavioral-advertising trackers;
- Social media tracking pixels;
- Session-replay tools that record full keystroke or mouse interaction;
- Profile-building cookies for non-MoldMind purposes.
3. Resend Email Open / Click Tracking
Transactional emails sent via Resend may include open-tracking pixels and click-tracking redirects so that we can diagnose deliverability and confirm that critical messages (security alerts, billing receipts, the Connecticut Public Act 25-44 annual reminder) reach you. These pixels and redirects do not set advertising cookies on your device. You may disable email images in your email client to suppress open tracking.
4. Your Choices and Controls
- Browser controls. Most browsers let you view, manage, and delete cookies and local storage through their settings. Refer to your browser's help documentation. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent the Service from working.
- Global Privacy Control ("GPC") signal. We honor the GPC signal where applicable as an opt-out of any "sale" or "sharing" under California and similar state privacy laws. As noted in the Privacy Policy, we do not sell personal data for monetary consideration and do not share personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising; the GPC signal does not change our core data practices but is honored as a formal opt-out for the avoidance of doubt.
- PWA / offline storage. You can clear MoldMind's offline storage by uninstalling the Progressive Web App (where applicable) or clearing site data from your browser settings.
- Email tracking. Disable image loading in your email client to suppress open-tracking pixels.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time as the Service evolves. We will post the revised version with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes (such as the introduction of a new category of cookie) will be communicated consistent with the Terms of Service.
